  1. Hey has anyone used the Sony Home Movie Studio? How is it compared to DvdLab. Most people on here seem to say that DvdLab or Tmpg Dvd Aurthor are the best programs to use. What should i use to make my own movie style/Hollywood motion logos? Ie When you see the 20th century fox opening wiht the search lights etc etc. What can i use that is cheap

Haven't used the Sony product, so I'll leave that bit alone.

As for cheap motion work, you could look at

    1. WAX2 for compositing. http://www.debugmode.com for details

    2. There are a number of freeware or shareware 3D programs available. I would start at one of the download sites - download.com, snapfiles.com etc

Other cheap alternatives include blufftitler and cool 3d. Use google to find them.

Chances are you will need to look at 2 or more pieces of software to do what you are after.
