  1. TMPGEnc 2.5 has many of the options in the advance section completley greyed out? Why could this be? I've red these forms over the past few days and have learned quit a bit. I've actually birned only 2m well 1 VCD and another VCD.

I was playing aroung with Nero 6, TMPGEnc, WinAvi Converter, Ashampoo, and easy video joiner.

I took me almost all day but I fianlly got "whit chicks" to play in good quality.

    Aight, I know enough babbling...

So my question is, why are there no options showing up in TMPGEnc?

I've included a screen cap so that u bros can see what it looks like for me on my end and how frustrating it is getting. I just finslly wish there was a program I could use to encode all my avi files into mpeg, mpg, etc. And then later as I become more knowledgable on this subject, be able to not have to convert 3 times as I did with a movie. (I did a Dr. Divx, WinAvi to VCD, then VCD back to VCD.) I had to convert the avi to vcd 2x because for some reason nero or any other proggy will not recognize it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And I am sorru if I rambled on.

Hhhmmm wonder why the screen cap isn't coming/showing up? Oh well, I'm sure some of you guys have had the same problem.

  2. Load the "unlock.mcf" in the TMPgenc/Template/Extras folder by pressing the load button in the lower right hand corner. Enjoy!

Well, Richie (if that IS your real name ), welcome to the forums.

You'll find a wealth of information here (sometimes too much ) to get you started down the DVD and CD video road. Spend your spare time looking at the guides section and FAQ and you'll learn plenty, I can assure you.

As xtreemkareem said, load the unlock.mcf template in TMPGEnc. This will allow you to alter any settings you want.

FWIW, my tool of choice for any MPEG encoding is TMPGEnc. There is absolutely no need for three conversion either ! Go to the guides section, and select the conversion you wish to do using the dropdown boxes. I can almost guarantee that there'll be a tool to assist with your conversion no matter what file you have without having to do three separate conversions.
    If in doubt, Google it.
