    when i do my rendering should I leave the computer alone or can I use it to surf or check emails etc ?

    Rendering uses the most of whatever CPU you have available, depending on what you have the priority set to. Doing other things on your PC won't affect it at all. Everything will just be lagging and running slower than hell, and depending on what you are doing you are just adding extra time it takes to finish rendering.

    You probably should IMO, only for the purpose of it finishing quicker. If you can handle adding a few extra minutes to the process, then be my guest
    If in doubt, Google it.

  4. With an Athlon Thunderbird 900 mhz like you state in your computer profile I wouldn't do too much while rendering on your machine. Hopefully you've upgrade but failed to update your specs.
