I have an entire series of an anime I want to convert to dvd. It's 51 episodes and around 24.09 minutes in length. I want good results but I don't want to use a ton of discs. How much video could I fit on a dvd-r at 352x480 and it still look crisp and highly detailed? Perhaps a 5 pass encode with CCE would be necessary? I figured if i wanted to do 720 x480 I could fit around 4.5-5 episodes per disc with a menu and ac-3. The xvid's are really good quality and are from dvd-rips and dvb-rips. So any ideas on what settings I should use for this project. Each ep is around 170 meg 640 x 480 with 2 channel 128 bit 48000hz audio. Thanks

ok I did a test of one episode with a 5 pass cce encoding at 352x480. The average was 2.7 mbps min 0 and max 5mbps. The file is good with no pixelation just a tiny bit blurry and not crisp. Is this because of the bicubic std resize or another issue? should I try the lancos resize? Only took 41 mins to do a 5 pass encode, I love my new processor. I remember when it used to take me 18 hours to do a 2 pass in tmpgenc lol.

    here is my script

    # -= AviSynth v2.0.8.0 script by FitCD v1.2.4 =-
    AVISource("G:\Full Metal Alchemist\Full Metal Alchemist 01.avi")
    BicubicResize(352,480,1/3,1/3,0,1,640,478)
ConvertToYUY2() # For VirtualDub or CCE

    thanks
