  1. i've been asked to make a promo dvd for a friends pub. he wants me to take certain scenes from different christmas movies and have them playing in a row. he also wants some text in the scenes like 'happy christmas' etc.

does anyone know what software would be good for this?

    thanks

Sounds innocent enough. Only one minor problem though. If you are talking about the Hollywood X-Mas movies, there is technically a copyright law that says you can't do that. Look around this site and you will find many post about copyright.
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?

Be very VERY careful of copyright. Big no-no on using other people's audio/video to make your own promo.

  4. We changed the plan a little to avoid copyright issues. We were never going to use Hollywood movies just some free stuff if we could find it. I've found a guy who has done some movie clips for differnent jobs and has agreed to let us use some of them for a small fee so we'll have no legal problems etc. He also wants to be acknowleged in the copyright section which is only fair.

Now, my question is this can, can you reccomend some software to do the job? I've been looking at Adobe Premiere Pro and I think that would do the job. But if anyone knows of other software which they could reccomend I would be very grateful.

    Thanks for your help
