  1. Is there anyway i can get a movie to play on an xbox or ps2 after i download and burn the files? I download .avi files and then convert to DVD files, but is there a way to get it so the dvd+r's will play on XBOX systems or PLAYSTATION 2 systems?

thanks in advance, and i need to know asap, thanks.

not sure about other burning apps, but my NERO 5.5 has an option, under the DVD-ROM(UDF) setting to "Force DVD-Video compatibility mode (required for Xbox TM)"

checking this has made all of my DVD-Rs play on my (unmodded) XBox with no problems at all...don't know about +Rs though...
    just a thought

I doubt the quality of the videos matters.
It should either play the discs...or not.

  7. Yep. +r should be fine on any xbox or ps2 console, no mod chip needed.

For games, dvd-r & mod chip or other mod required.

Not all of them will play all burnt -/+ media. Older PS2 consoles def won't play them at all, but the new generation units play them most without a problem.

I've had a few friends that had an XboX that refused to play some +r discs that were good quailty (RICHOJPN) FujiFilm 4x +r but played fine on my PS2.

I'd suggest trying other brands of media should you expirence playback issues on the xBOx or PS2.

[EDIT] Speaking of movies here, not games with no mod chip(s) involved.[/EDIT]

Try changing the booktype of DVD+R to DVD-ROM

My new PSTwo is actually more tolerant than my regular standalone, that seems to be very picky these days when it comes to what it plays and not. I use -R media, of a make LordSmurf categorises as "landfill" (CMC) (Platinum brand)

Actually any ps2 should play +r dvds.

What you refer to was for games, only the new ones play +r for games.
