I've tried the method of patching the headers and authoring a dvd but that didn't work too good in my dvd players , so I need to re-encode. I re-encoded the dvb in tmpgenc to 352x480 but the audio is no in sync any ideas? like time of offset I need to input or if there is a prog that will fix the sync issue? The original file is perfectly in sync, just after encoding it goes out of sync.

how do you demultiplex the dvb stream?
is it same out sync in the entire video or does it get worse and worse?

Well to demux the stream I loaded it into tmpgenc and did a simple demux then I tried to author a dvd with the mp2 from the dvb with the new encoded mpeg2 file and it was off sounded like the audio was ahead a few seconds. Then I tried to re-encode the mp2 thru tmpgenc to mp2 seeing if it was a gop error or something then merge it but still out of sync. the original file is fine not out of sync at all in any spot. Then I tried re-encoding the dvb as system video and audio so it would be one mpeg but the sync was off as well. This is very confusing because if I patch the headers and author a dvd the sound is in sync but whenever I try to touch the file it gets out of sync. I'm thinking it has something to do with delaying the audio a few seconds of ms i dunno.

Interesting Developments folks : I noticed just now that the encoded dvd 352 x480 file is one hour an 12 min and 2 seconds. How can this be? The video is supposed to be 2 hours and 52 minutes. I think it has something to do with the gop of the dvb stream. I know in tmpgenc dvd author when I was editing the file to pick my chapters the frames were spaced far apart in the original dvb file. So I guess when tmpgenc re-encoded this file it fixed the gop and took out the spaces in between the frames so it made the frames display at a different gop affecting the time? anybody got any ideas on this one ?

for some reason virtualdub reports it as havng a play time ofr 2 hours and 52 and 2 seconds which that is what it should be but any dvd player or media player says 1 hour 12 mins and 2 seconds. Anyway after fiddling with the audio delay I can get it in sync if I re-encoded, but this is not a good solution. What happens if my dvb has an ac3? I don't want to touch the ac3 but if it's gonna be out of sync as well then that is gonna suck. I'm gonna wait to find something to record with ac3 later. thanks

Well I thought I had it working but I was testing just a small sample of the source and that was in sync so I used the same settings and the damn thing is out of sync again after 3 hours of encoding.
