  1. Hello,
    My first time here...
And I would like to know which program is the best for if you have you VHS player connected to your computer and you want to Capture ALL of the video on one file and then be able to use an authoring program and burn it. Thanks a bunch!

P.S I currently am using the ATI player and it will just stop at random points and not record...>_> if anyone knows the answer to that, it would be great.

  2. Welcome to the forums. It sounds like you just want to copy your tapes/tapes and be done with it and not fool around with them, so I would suggest NEO DVD. It captures straight to VOB files that are ready to go onto a disc. It does so easily and with a minimal learning curve.
Some here might say it's not the best program, some will no doubt hate the thing, but I have used it many times and the quality is quite good and "normal" people who aren't into video will think it looks fantastic.

  4. Neo DVD does allow you to customize simple menus, but there are several programs that will take VOBs as input so that you can do some authoring of your own. DVD Author is one of the better ones, and very simple to use.

Follow the guide here for using mmc with a ATI card: www.digitalfaq.com You'll find the link at the left.

By any chance is the resulting file 4gb after it stops, if so your capturing to FAT32 drive. You need to capture to a NTFS formatted drive to capture files larger than 4gb.
