I wanna get one of those trendy haircuts, y'know the one, yer hair's all gelled up into like a mohawk style... Everybody's got one... I see it every day in the street, and on TV... Kinda like a ****'s'comb. David Beckham's got one.
What's it called?
Is there a name for this hairdo?
How come it became sooooo popular overnight?
Man, I need to keep up with this world. Give me the name of this hairdo so I can go to the hairdressing studio & get one! I feel like such an outcast without one!

The hairdoes I'm talking about are like everyday-kinda "normaloid" haircuts, just yer basic short-hair bloke cuts, but for some reason everyone is gelling up their hair into these PSEUDO-mohawks?
There's a BIG difference between a true "mohawk" and these "pseudo-mohawks"...
I'm just wondering, is there an actual NAME for this new trendy haircut? Coz I wanna get one! -
I think the hair style is called "I'm retarded and pathetic and need to do something to draw attention to myself"
I could be wrong on that, but I'm pretty sure that's what it's called
I see them everyday as well. Actually one of the ones I see everyday is a kid who will get it into a mohawk of spikes which he will paint, with hair paint, blonde, then will do sides green and red stripes.
He had 3 mohawks going on there for a while, one real mohawk down the middle of his head, then a little mohawk about 3 inches above each ear and and he would paint them all different colors.
That dude is one strange MFer, who we will all probably read about or hear about on FoxNews one day. -
I knew a kid like that once, we all called him the "Subculture Chameleon".

If you are looking for sympathy, look in a dictionary between shit and Syphilis wink.gif
I've found "shudder", "siamese", "shoddy", "sick", "simian", "simpleton", "Sisyphean", "skunk", "slag", "slime", "slob", "sloth", "slow", "sludge", "slug", "snake", "snag", "snob", "sodomist", "soggy", "solipsist", "sop", "spanner", "spastic", "spack", "speck", "spick", "spittle", "square"......
But no, I'm not looking for sympathy. :P -

Hi,
I've heard this hairstyle called anything from "minihawks" to fake or pseudo mohawks. So not really an offical name for the cut that I know of.
The length varies from person to person depending on what they prefer. Usually Hairstylists/ Barbers use anywhere from a 3-5 (5 being the longest) clipperguard around the sides and back with the very top being left at least an inch longer then the sides. Again, depending on personal preference.
Hope that helps -
Thanks, Keesfan, but I just went & bought a tub of gel & just combed my hair up into a pseudo-mohawk. But unfortunately I have curly hair & it looks ridiculous. Oh well...
Yoda, no I didn't really hijack my own thread, I just spelt out synonyms for the person who wears this kind of hairdo!!!
Ha ha

I keep my hair about 3mm long. 'Nuff said.

Just buy a wig instead. You'll be able to change your hairstyle at a moments notice. Best of all, you'll be able to blend in with other people..............depending where you live.

A shaved hair cut is enough and nothing special, there is all to it.
I am a computer and movie addict -
I saw some kids a while back with mohawks. I said, "it reminds me of the good ol' daze in San Francisco." Ony guy smiled, but another idiot had to get cocky and said "well, it's here," meaning Jacksonville, FL. I decided not to burst his bubble and tell him it only took 25 years to get here.....

Overnight's one thing, a quarter of a century is something else. These kids weren't even 20 y/o....
