    I've got a weird problem, and I don't think anyone else has it. When Sizzle starts up, no windows come up. I pick File>New and nothing happens. I get the following message in the terminal:

    ===== Sat Jan 17 2004 ===== 21:07:36 Canada/Mountain =====
    2004-01-17 21:07:52.307 Sizzle[561] *** -[NSPlaceholderDictionary initWithObjects:forKeys:]: number of objects (1) not equal to number of keys (2)

    I don't know if that helps. For reference, I'm running OS X 10.3.2 on a new 15" Powerbook 1.25Ghz w/ 512MB of RAM. I did a complete reformat after I got the Powerbook so there shouldn't be any leftover 10.2 crap messing things up. Oh, and Sizzle runs flawlessly on my G4 400 Desktop, but pretty damn slow.
    If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.

    Actually, no. Does that do something?

  4. Some of those resources can mess with Sizzle's window drawing. What about appearance modifications of any kind? (Unsanity's Metallifizer for example.)

    Now that I'm thinking about it, there is a chance that I might have used a theme or two in the past (I planned to once, but I don't remember getting around to doing it), so is there anything I should try?

  7. You would need to know what theme(s) you installed so you could examine the file lists included with them to see what files were replaced, then replace them with clean 10.3.2 versions. You might have some success by installing Duality GT and using its included Aqua restore option. I did have the same problem as you at one time, that is, that Sizzle was the only app I was aware of that wouldn't open a window on my system, but I was working on updating my own theme for Panther, so I knew exactly which files I had replaced. (BTW, I never released a version of my theme which would cause that problem.) You could check ResExcellence for themes created for 10.3.2 that come in .dlta format so you can easily see which files are commonly replaced. I don't think you would need to worry about any theme applied with ShapeShifter, because it intercepts processes instead of replacing files, and the current version doesn't affect very many files anyway.

    llee782, thanks. A reinstall of panther, and sizzle is good to go.

  10. Ahhhh, I finally figured this out. It depends on Internet Explorer, and Arial Black (in MyDocument.m specifically). If you change it in the source to "Helvetica" in both places, it will work.

    If you take just the Arial fonts and drop them into /Library/Fonts it works as well. Maybe this could be changed in the source to use a non-Microsoft font in the future.

    Wow, thanks for finding that! I've updated the page with a link to an Arial Black download. 8)
