Pioneer DVD Burner Quit Working

I'm using Nero Express on a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-107D. The thing has worked fine for months, now it doesn't. It gets about 90% through the burn process then comes up with an error message.

Here is a copy of my error log.

I've tried with 3 different rips, from 2 different computers, with the same result each time. I've created 6 coaster in this mix, so I'm pretty sure it's not the media.

Any idea what might be going wrong?

Same thing happened to me. Most burns would get anywhere from 10% to 95% ( ) finished ...then just hang ...doing nothing, but not generating an error screen either ....ever.

I uninstalled Nero Burning Rom 6 and installed NBR 5.5.10.56 but I also had success with 5.5.9.XX

No problems since.

Okay, I uninstalled Nero, and tried buring the same flick with Ulead DVD Creator, and got an error "Did not burn data to disk". Sounds like a hardware problem or driver conflict.

Did you try reinstalling your aspi manager for Nero?

And did you already rule out crappy media?

I'm not sure what that is, or how I'd go about doing it. I uninstalled Nero completely. Would reinstalling Nero automatically reinstall the "aspi manager"?

go to nero's website and use the NERO CLEAN TOOL before you reinstall NERO BURN.

I can't seem to find a link for a "Clean Tool". Is it possible it goes under a different name?

Well I'll be d@mned. Looks like it was the media afterall.

I ordered "100 pack ProDisc 4X White Inkjet Printable DVD-R No Stacking Ring with Paper Sleeves" from SuperMediaStore.com and they don't work worth a crap.

I went back to "Prodisc 4x DVD-R Silver 4.7GB 50 pack with Free Ground Shipping!" (same store) and they work great.
