Who cares what they mean by "video mode"? It's just some buzz words the marketing department invented to make their DVD player sound more impressive.
Assuming that you have ripped/decrypted/shrunk your files to your hard drive, all you need for Nero to burn your video files is to set Nero to burn DVD-video files. It will automatically burn all of your files in a VIDEO_TS folder and burn a blank AUDIO_TS folder on your blank DVD -R/RW.
That should be all you need to get your player to play the video, regardless of any meaningless terminology like "video mode".

  5. Video mode is the normal DVD format. It is opposed to VR mode which allows to edit an already recorded disc. It is usually used in Sony DVD-R Handycams. Hope this clears any doubt.

    Entirely incorrect.

The format of a typical movie is DVD-Video format.
    This is the format. DVD-Video.
Many recorders and players refer to this as "video mode".
DVD-Video format calls for VOB, IFO, and BUP files (and allows for other
optional files, like that of JACKET, etc)

As opposed to a DVD-ROM or DVD+VR or DVD-VR modes.
DVD-VR is a VRO format file system with it's own folder methods.
    DVD+VR is a variation of DVD-VR and DVD-Video.

    For the DVD-VR mode,
many RAM systems and other recorders/players
simply refer to it as VR mode.

ROM material is ISO mode (with or without Joliet).
Usually without, as a UDF bridge allows for the long filenames.
A data disc is ISO or UDF mode.
UDF is also used for DVD-Video, though most prefer a UDF/ISO Bridge.

ISO mode can only be 1GB max filesize,
hence the reason you have a zillion VOB files for just one movie.
