I have been using Ulead Movie Factory 3 SE for editing/authoring/burning. I am capturing and converting my videos from both my DV camera and my old VHS tapes. However, once captured with WIN DV and converted with TMPG enc, I can't get the trimming function to work on Ulead and it is annoying in the extreme.
I am using the Trim function, whereby I mark the intended beginning and end of the video using the jog bar. The video thumbnail shows up in the media clip bar as having been trimmed. But, whenever I play back on the screen the file I have trimmed, I find that the program has trimmed off the beginning of the video as marked, but not the end. I have now tried this literally hundreds of times and it does the same thing EVERY time. This is a really essential function of DVD editing software so I would be appreciative of any help. Is there anything i am doing wrong, or is it the case that this feature of Ulead doesn't work very well?

have you tried pressing the SHIFT key and play button at the same time? I remember you have to do that if you want to preview the selected/marked area only.
