I've seen a few similar posts but wanted to add this one if ok:
Having worked perfectly well with DVD Lab standard to import VOBs (often ripped with dvd shrink) and reauthor with no problems, I have noticed a problem when I rip a dvd-r disk made using a friend's panasonic recorder (E85??). The resulting reauthored dvd plays with out of sync audio. The ripped files (post shrink) play fine in Nero Showtime and I think the problem is the demultiplexing of the vobs into mpv/mpa files. When I choose not to demux and simply stitch together the vobs then reauthor using the new vob file I get no problems (although I have not tried to burn to disc to see if it will play in a player yet).
I post this to see if anyone can explain the problem/has had similar problems.. I imagine quite a few people will have the Pannie and may be trying to do similar so maybe it justifies a specifically titled thread.. Also I would rather not have to use my non demuxing work around.. Is there a good alternative (free?) prog which will take my DVD recorded vobs and turn them into demuxed mpv and mpa files OR is there a more obvious way around it in DVd Lab? Thanks for any answers.

It looks like the problem may be DVD shrink. I am editing these files in shrink (chopping off start and end) then importing into dvdlab. If I don't use shrink, there is no problem . I have started to use Video ReDo to edit the interim files, although its a bit of a lengthy process. Hope this helps somebody.

Using the start-end function in DVDShrink usually does cause audio sync issues...unfortunately this is a well known fact.
If you use the start-end function on chapters that already exist on the DVDR....the sync problems do not occur.
I always place chapter markers at my edit points prior to finalizing or protecting (my +R's and RW's) in my Philips DVD Recorder created discs. This solves all of the sync issues.
Womble MPEG-VCR does a pretty good job at simple editing as well....but I find my first way foolproof...at least for me.
