I had a quicktime video clip taked with a Nikon 4300 digital camera which needed to be rotated 90 degreed to be viewed easier. I converted into AVI with premiere6 & then rotated it with Vdub, which did the job quickly.
When I view the resultant clip in Media Player, it looks fine. However, when I import the clip into EZ DVD creator6, the resultant clip plays back stretched out. Apparently EZ DVD creator is stretching the video clip horizontally so it will fill a standard DVD screen.

How do I add either transparent or black "blocks" on either side of my rotated video clip so that it will already fit a standard DVD screen & not be stretched. I would like to do this in Vdub or Premiere6. (I have tmpeg but it is basically useless for me b/c it has become corrupted & adds a pink screen to everything it processes. I already tried to fix this w/out luck.)

Use the 'Resize' filter in VirtualDub.

In the filter set the 'New width' & 'New height' values to match the existing size of the video.
Tick the 'Expand frame and letterbox image' option.
Set the Frame width to a DVD standard (e.g 720 or 704), if your video height is already DVD height then set the 'Frame Height' to match the current height.
(You can also set which color you want the borders to be).

  4. Can you tell me which option under VirtualDub did you use to rotate the video 90 degrees? I can't seem to find the option to do so. Thanks.
