VCD does not play video only audio

Hello,
I am trying to burn a vcd and play on my dvd player.My dvd player
plays vcd since i played them b4.
Now i used a small mpg file to test.I burned using Nero and play it in the dvd.On the tv i can hear the audio perfectly but the screen is blank.
I tried using the burner in winavi and still the same thing.
I have all the codecs needed.
I have tempgenc and that does help either.
I have no clue what to do.
I burned the file onto a cd-rw.
any help is great.

256 B ram
2.6gigs

samsung cd-r/rw

did you burn as vcd in nero?
does the burned vcd work on your computer?

Yes,i burned it in nero too and same problem.
the vcd plays in the pc,however i have to play it using the dat file since it wont autoplay.
all the vcd file folders are there in the disc.
