    Forgive this newbie question.

I want to use stills I have taken to mix in with my video footage. My questions is - Is it possible to make Jpegs move? For example make them spin around or making one start as a dot and then becoming full size or twist them around? I hope you can understand what I mean. I use Videostudio 8. Thanks for any help.

    Hi Keithchr,

Yes, stills can be "moved" - though that's not the term. I'm not familiar with VS8 coz I use Adobe Premiere but I guess the principal will be similar (i.e. there may be additional or fewer steps).

    1. Import the JPEG(s) you want to work with so the app knows what and where they are.

    2. Drop your desired JPEG onto the timeline. It'll be represented by a certain number of seconds.

    3. Apply your desired effect (spin, zoom etc.) to the object on the timeline.

    4. Render and verify it does what you want.

    Hope that helps. Good luck...

  3. You can also do an effect where you pan and zoom over your pictures. This is known as the Ken Burns Effects. You can use Slide Show Movie Maker, for this, it has great results. Then import your outputted avis from ssmm into Video Studio 8 and add them to your timeline!

You can also use Wax 2 for that. It will do all that you want and much, much more. The best part is it's FREE. You may even be able to use it as a plugin for your editor (or as a standalone).

Since your a newbie, it will take you some time to figure it out......... but it's worth it. It's a great multi-layerd keyframe editor with 3D capabilities.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........
