  1. I just completed my first DVD project with NeroVision Express. I burned it onto a DVD+RW disc with no problem.

I went to burn it onto a second disc, this time a DVD-RW. My drive is compatable with all formats, and I thought that the software would figure out what kind of disc I was using and act accordingly.

About 20 minutes into the process I got an error. I checked the log, and near as I can figure it was looking for a DVD+RW and when it didn't find one it aborted. It called it a "book error".

Can someone please tell me what happened here?

    Thanks as always.

    Hi hdwaynes,

All I can think is that NeroVision Express had somehow latched on to the fact that you'd originally used a DVD+RW.

Have you tried closing the app and starting from scratch with a DVD-RW?

    Beyond that, no ideas.

    Good luck...

If you just did a disk copy, then nero expects the same type of disk to be used for the target as the source. For a disk copy, nero just does an image copy, and will therefore try to write the same book type to the target disk.

The way around this is to copy the files from the DVD to your harddrive first, then burn them to the new disk. This way, book type becomes irrelevent.

I don't think this is true. Not at all. I've used NERO many times to copy DVD+RW and DVD-RW media to DVD-R and DVD+R discs.
