TV-Card + S-video = Black&White?

Im having problem to get coloures when i connect
VCR > Pinnacle PCTV Rave with a brand new S-video cable. The picture gets Black & White. If i use a Composite cable i get coloures but not the resolution i want. Ive tried the things that pinnacle suggest on there homepage but with no result. Anyone who can help me with this problem?

I had the same problem , also with a pinnacle card (usb TV) but i was never able to fix it... i do believe you need a S-VHS vcr instead of a normal vcr. if you amange to fix the prob please post the solution.

This is a wiring problem I guess. For exemple not all scart connectors are wired correctly, thus passing NOT all signals to your TV and/or VCR. Most of the time youl find composite working at lower quality.
Another exemple are some Sony TV's, which use two different input names for one connector set on your tv:
AV3 for audio and composite, YC3 for audio and svhs connector.
I'dd check the cables / connectors first.

Try using another S-Video cable. I've had bad cables cause B&W pictures in the past.
