Sometimes I get some hissing in my Logitech speakers now that they are hooked up to my new sound card. I was going to get new speaker wire instead of using the supplied wire. I also want to use one of the digital out's from the external hub that came with the sound card. So I am asking, is there a difference in quality between optical out and coax out, if so which is better? If there is no difference I was going to use coax out because the connection is on the back of the hub and the optical out is on the front.

    Front of external hub.

    Back of external hub.

No quaity difference between the two. Both transmit the same digital information.

Would one of the digital connections give better quality than the analog connections? I am just wanting to get the best sound quality for surround sound when watching dvd's on the computer.
