Hello,
I personally love all the documentaries and commentaries on dvds. I sometimes wish some movies would have more. What about you??

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
-
No. My wife loves to watch them, but once the movie is over, I'm on to something else, thank you very much
-
Rarely. A movie is a movie and sometimes I feel it takes away when I see how it was all filmed and how the set was built etc. Like Jim said, music DVDs are the exception.
-
I will watch the outakes and maybe deleted scenes but that is it, unless its a film I really like.
and Directors commentary, how ******* boring is that !! -
Depending on the movie - I struggle to sit through the commentaries, except for Chopper. Deleted scenes and outtakes, making of all fine, maybe the occasional interview. It all depends on the film really.

Hello,
Man I can't get enough of most of the documentaries. The trailers are fun on old movies too. Some of them are SOOO BAD! But it's always interesting to me to learn how movies were made.

Yes...usually I'll watch the extras.
The bonus stuff was the attraction to DVDs for me in the first place.
I don't always play the commentaries though - it depends on the movies.
If I know there were more scenes deleted that weren't included on the DVD, then yes, I want more for a number of movies.
Often it frustrates me that many older movies don't have as much as that I already know exists...and many of these movies don't have any extras included.
That I'm a filmmaker and have done a lot of research on the stuff I rent or buy, I usually find this stuff interesting.
I know it usually doesn't appeal much to the average person. -
I always watch the extras. They add alot to the movie. I love actual director's commentaries. Cast commentaries are only good if there are about 2 actors talking. I can't stand when they have the entire cast. Everyone talks over each other and they gigle the whole time over inside jokes.
Some of the commentaries, like on Star Wars DVDs, are really well thought out and choreographed, and add alot to the movie. -

Unless it's a new documentary like the new Star Wars dvd you probably won't get too many people to watch a particular documentary (unless they also love the movie). Doesn't mean they won't watch it on there own for their favorites.

No ...just watch the movie ..I have heard the commentary but after a few mints.( I think to myself and say I had heard enough) . I figure I like to make my own opinion with what I see. And yes I do talk to myself

I did at first but my biggest problem was the volume ..It seems that it was just a rough ( raw ) clip they had on the deleted scenes with very low volume . . It is not easy and my computer would slow down because the size of the file ( the whole movie) ...but now its alot easier without the computer playing a part, I now have a dvd recorder...

Sometimes...it depends on the movie. If it's a chick flick that I was forced to watch then I'd say...hell no.

I love the bonus stuff. Commentaries are a thing a love to listen to. A lot of times it gives an insight into what the director was thinking. A lot of times it is very funny and informative (the Simpsons DVDs). I love when they show how they did stuff in the movie. I hope to start experimenting with video soon and its really informative.

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend? -
I dont watch bonus on movies, just the movie only.
Actually, ive only seen the bonus on two dvds, The Matrix and Lord of the Rings Extended Editions, just to see how they were made.
Now onto another question:
How many people have ever watched a movie all the way through with the directors commentary on? -
I watch the bonus stuff at least once.
I never turn the commentary on when I am watching the movie. -

And The Goonies, since it was showing the cast while they were doing commentary...which was somewhat ok but got annoying quickly.
At one point, Sean Astin just leaves (and doesn't return)...the others stay to the end.
The other movies with commentary on I watched in segments.
How many watch movies with the dubbed languages?
I've watched a couple that way - it can be entertaining 8) -
I usually watch deleted scenes and outtakes. Once in a while I'll play whatever game they have, but usually not. Director's commentary is a load of hooey. Just make another cable channel and call it the MCT (Movie Commentary Channel). Then put all that crap there for people to watch now and then. I don't want to watch a movie while someone's talking. I'm real anal about it too. I make everyone shut up to watch even my Simpson's DVDs. I'll even call an usher in a movie theater or ask for a free ticket to another showing from a theater's management. And it's usually teeneage white trash and Ghetto women. Not to be stereotypical, but it's always them.

I always watch the whole movie when I listen to the director's commentary, and I've done this for pretty much all of the movies that I own which have this feature. If you are a fan of film, and not just a fan of movies, then you enjoy the commentaries.

Hello,
I ALWAYS watch movies with commentary all the way through. Otherwise I wouldn't listen to the commentary!!!
Some movies I don't bother with commentary but I do watch some bonus material on most discs I watch (assuming they have it).
