Hi.

I usually use a modified Daewoo 5800 for viewing Pal discs of all regions, but I had a need for another such unit, and even though the $39.99 price at radio Shack was a bit worrisome, after seeing many positive reviews among the negative ones on this forum, I thought I'd pick one up and give it a try.

Last night I hooked it up straight out of the box into my InFocus XL-1 digital projector, and popped in the Region 2 Dutch Pal release of Lars Von trier's Dogville.

I first used the region-changing hack previously mentioned in an earlier thread, and sure enough, the Cyberhome 300 recognized and played the disc. However, there was a lot of annoying stutter and flicker in the picture right from the get-go. It even appeared during the Interpol copyright warning.

When I say stutter and flicker, I mean the image jittered and skipped a bit, every 1 or 2 seconds. There was no static, just tiny fluctuations which made it unwatchable.

I took out the disc and tried it in my Daewoo 5800, and it played just fine, with only the every-once-in-about 10 minutes mild stutter or skip that I've come to expect from most hacked players under $100.

Has anyone had a similar experience with the Cyberhome 300? I have 30 days to take it back for refund or exchange, and I most definitely will do that, but I'm wondering if this is some sort of conflict with the Region hack or a digital projector like the InFocus that I am unaware of.

Then again, this could just be a lemon unit, and by swapping it out everything will be fine until the $40 player dies a natural death.

Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.
