I'd go for the CPU. If you shoot yourself first you may not get a crack at the CPU.

    Just a thought.

  3. very true. I never realized how complicated this is. I should have heeded (sp? word?) the word of my cousin who is a cpu genius when he said don't even waste your time....

It's not as complicated as it sounds. It's more time consuming that anything else. Browse the forums for related topics first, then check the guides for a little more clarity. Then if you still have questions, post in the forums. They'll help you out.

  5. I have and everyone is real friendly and helpful, but they often speak way above my head! I don't think I have ever classified myself as a "noob" for so long! There are just so many variables with this stuff. I thought I had it made when I tried to use DVDWS 2 and half ass figured that out...but nothing is working in there cuz my resolution is off I think. And I have recently found out that half my stuff is in PAL format...

    Intuit,
You have taken the first step, grasshopper. You have stood up and said "I am Intuit ....and I am a NOOB"

    In unison ..."HI INTUIT!!"

There's a bunch of stuff to learn. Remember that the guides are your friends. Same for the forum search button, and the User Guides forum ...guides written by members here on apps, techniques.

Believe me, whatever you're attempting, it's been done here before, and it is well documented. It's a matter of having the patience to find it all.

Good luck, and don't let it get you down. We've all been there, and we're still here

Just kidding. Welcome aboard. Don't feel bad. If people actually knew they were walking into a world of self-inflicted torture by picking up this hobby, well, most of us probably wouldn't even be here.
