I was carrying out some VHS capture and wanted to try outthe Huffy lossles capture using Virtual VCR.
I had read that some people had problems with the HuffyUV 2.2.0 codec on the Tools page
and tried to install Version 2.1.1 . I followed the instruction in the release notes and
copied the .dll file to "Windows/system32" subdirectory and updated the registry :-
HKLM,SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaResourc es\icm\VIDC.HFYU:-
"Description"="Huffyuv lossless codec [HFYU]"
"Driver"="huffyuv.dll"
"FriendlyName"="Huffyuv lossless codec [HFYU]"
It seemed to go Ok but When I fired up VirtualVCR it did not show the Huffy codec in
the dropdown list.
So the Question is :-
a) What is the correct procedure for installing the HuffyUV codec on a WinXP system?
b) How does one get VirtualVCR to recognise a new codec. I recall that issue has
been asked before but I did not manage to find it in the forum?

Thanks.
I am sure I tried it before and it didn't work but on retrying it installed Ok
and I could see it from VirtualVCR.
Also I got the impression from the Information about the codec that the install file was only suitable for a Win98 type system.
