Hello - new to this forum and could not find this topic discussed previously.
I have been converting a number of VHS tapes to DVD over the past year on my Philips DVDR 75. I continue to have a problem with a sort of high pitched electronic "chirp" sound when recording certain VHS tapes with loud passages, to DVD+R/RW.
There is no recording level adjustment on the Philips 75, so I cannot reduce the input levels. I have tried filtering the sound through an equalizer to reduce the db levels, but I need to reduce the levels so dramatically that the end result is a DVD with sound levels that are too soft. I've tried replacing the cables, using different VCR's, etc. but still have the same problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Hmm, is this related to my tuner problem? I'm not sure if the sound is the problem, or if it's something else to do with the signal.
