  1. I used Movie Factory to make DVD folders and ISO files. I shrank them with DVDShrink. When I import them back into ULEAD Movie Factory, Movie Factory takes another 4 hours to process the files. I thought an ISO or a DVD folder was ready to go as is. Am I wrong?

I tried burning the ISO straight to disc using Roxio (just burned it as a file, DVD-rom-style). It wouldn't play in the DVD player, but would play in the computer if I selected the file in windows explorer. Why doesn't this work?

Ultimately I'm trying to find a way to speed things up. Anytime I touch the original file, it seems to take HOURS! No kidding - 5 hours to compress and burn a 2 hr 10 min video.

Help, kind souls of the videohelp realm!

I don't understand why you opened the files in DVDMF once you had written the DVD files to HD.

You should be able to just use Nero, or whatever, to burn the DVD.

Try writing the VIDEO_TS folder and files to HD instead of .ISO. Then use Roxio to burn the DVD. If you're burning anyways, you have no real need to write the file as an ISO.

  3. Thanks for the help (and the previous help, which worked well).

I'm still trying to figure out which programs to use for which. I have Moviefactory and Roxio. In order to compress files larger than the 4.4 GB limit, I have been using Movie Factory and changing the MPEG properties. But the process has been taking roughly 5 hours.

Looking for a faster method, I burned an ISO (the DVD_Folder was for a different video). I then compressed it with DVD Shrink (which took only 1 hour). How do I burn to a DVD ISO (or a DVD folder) with Roxio (since it now seems that Movie Factory is the wrong choice).

PS - if a different program is worth investing in, please let me know.

    Thanks again,

  4. Correction - "how do I burn a DVD ISO file (or a DVD folder) to a DVD with Roxio." Sorry about the confusion.
