I am searching for a USB 2.0 device, capable of capturing AVI with thirdparty MJPEG compression such as Huffy, PicVideo, or Morgan.
The products I've seen so far, is built around the WIS GO7007SB chip or similar, which doesnt promise other formats than MPEG1/2/4.
Anyone knows about a device built around a conexant chip, capable of doing AVI-PicVideo/Morgan ?

Have you checked the Canopus website yet?

I don't know about a USB mpeg only device as I don't have access to one but when I use the capture tool in the MainConcept Encoder under setup it allows me to capture in pretty much any codec including their MJPEG codec. It allows this from my USB webcam and from my Canopus ADVC 50 and mof course my BT878 card. They have a demo at their site so you might give it a try. I'm curious to hear results.

Reply to Capmaster: The Canopus MPEGPRO-EMR is a USB device, but doesn't promise anything else but MPEG - no mention of AVI/MJPEG.
Reply to fingernailX: What I am looking for is:
video source -> composite/S-vhs -> device -> USB -> PC-capture,
not
video source -> USB -> device -> PCI -> PC-Capture.
In the meantime I have stumbled over a site describing "AVerMedia AVerTV USB 2.0", explicitly describing AVI/what-codec-have-you. See:

Has anyone experience whith this one?
