    With all the talk about menus I think it'd time to ask the million dollar question.

    Are Menus necessary?

    I mean if you made a VCD that has a number of short videos on it, and all you want the menu to do is "say" that by pressing keypad number "2" you get this video. Or by pressing keypad button "5" you get this video. Can't you just insert a video with a list of other videos on the disk and instruct the operator to press the keypad (or the next command) on the DVD player (computer or stand alone) as video 1.

    Or do you need the menu to tell a player how many videos (chapters) on on a disk, and how to get to them?

    It seems that that is all what is really necessary, unless you need a menu that when using it will take you to a percise point with-in a video (especially for vidoes that take up the whole CD).

    And that is not what I need at this point and time.

    it's up to you. but i haven't seen a single dvd that doesn't have a menu... PEOPLE LIKE MENUS
