I have an mpeg that was filmed with my digital camera, but it was filmed horizonal, therefore the picture plays side ways.

How do I shift the mpeg 90 degrees to make it play upright?

if it is in mpeg format -- you will have to re-encode it ..

an easy method is to load mpeg into v-dubmod and use the rotate filter and frame serve it back out to an encoder

virtualdubmod then frameserve to your encoder, eg tmpgenc.
use the tools link on the left to find the tools, and there's a guide for frameserving too.
