Wanting advice from any who have used this model...

Alright, this seems to be a bit better of a camera than the Panasonic I was looking at. Although not a 3CCD, it seems to perform only marginally less in the PQ (picture quality) arena. Almost unnoticeable, and at a much lower price. I can see it has no external mic input, and I can accept that (not really needed for the person using it). Colors, low noise ratio, stabilizer, and focus (including macro focusing), all seem to work well, on the store demo camera at least. And it also has 22x optical zoom! That was important.

My JVC S-VHS-C camera had the spring in the zoom toggle die out. Not on one, but two cameras! The Canon seems to have a similar toggle (as seen on outside, not sure of it on inside), so that is a slight concern for me. I am considering custom-making a hard shell case with bubble padding inside, then placing that small hard case in a camera bag. Curious if anybody has any problems with the toggle switch going out.

Opinions? Comments? Would love to hear anything you have to say.

    Thanks.

  2. I have the canon ZR60. It' s a very good camera and I know it's a few generations older then the one you're planning on buying. I don't believe the ZR90 is much different except for a few extra bells and whistles.I 've had no problems with it, however my one complaint with it is that when used indoors with average to low lighting the image shows noise. Check out some other reviews and youl'll see the same comments RE: it's performance in low light or at night. Otherwise I would recommend it. A very good value for the price.

Yeah, I noticed noise on the 85 and another model, but not on the 90. That was important also.
