I believe the Windows ICF is only for incoming connections, so turn that off and continue using Outpost. We need a little more information on the email problem, are you using an email client or do you go to a website for your email?

  3. if windows ICF is enabled, then outlook epress will not automatically dl and display images in emails. look to the top of your email, where the content of the email begins and under where sender/recepient subject etc. (gray) click on the "bar" to view images. very much like the new pop up blocker in IE.

if you want this feature removed, then disable the windows firewall, and use your outpost software.
Be satisfied, the day is yours. If i have to explain, you would'nt understand.

ICF woks for incoming and outgoing connections. It can prevent applications from accessing the net if not configured properly. This prevents things like Trojans from sending your info to another computer.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

  5. what does ICF mean? guessing the F is firewall,
randomly clicked about email window and pics appearred.
only thing i've not sorted now is that bloody windows firewall widow that asks about things, u know the thing allow it or block it.
it pops up more than bloody ads which i had Adsgone to deal with and i had outpost for firewall and norton for anti virus.
what's the point of this service pack?
i'm no expert but was there not a big court case about ms supplying explorer and other companies were moaning about it. monopoly and all that.
so how can they now supply firewall, pop up stopper, anti virus etc?

(when i read this in the morning it will make no sense at all)
and btw thanx xxgriff it was your help that got my email pics back

Actually, you can disable this "feature" within Outlook Express simply by selecting Tools | Options, clicking on the Security tab and UNchecking the new Download Images box.
