help with borders

hello, i have an xvid file that is 640x272...i have been doing searches but nothin i find seems to tell me how to add borders to this to maintain the avi aspect ratio when convert to dvd,,,i just want to add black borders on top and bottom of movie so i dont pick up alot of pixelation,,the picture is perfct from pc to tv,,,i use either canopus or mainconcept for encodes,,,,thanks

use fitcd to calculate the borders.
use the scale in mainconcept to add black borders, under details->crop and scale.

i haven't used procoder.
