  1. Say I'm interested in compressing my dvd9 movies (movie only) to fit on one disc. I was using shrink but with all the bad reviews I've decided to change to either TMPGEnc DVD Author or DVD2ONE. As far as quality is concerned which is the better choice? Perhaps there are other good choices. Thanks.

I believe those don't compress (at least tmpgenc dvd author DOESN'T compress), they author (create dvd). I have had no problems with dvdshrink. Just shrink it to your harddrive and see for yourself. It should be more than acceptable.

DVD2One will compress a dvd9 movie to fit a particular target size. I've heard many good and bad comments about shrink but not DVD2ONE except for a few good ones. I simply wish to have a quality compressed backup.

    Hello,

You said "compressed". You should know that any compression will have SOME loss in quality. Like I said I don't have any problems with dvdshrink. If you like dvd2one then use. I don't have a problem with that (though I haven't used it myself, I'm just giving you my experience).
