    I bought the Toshiba SD-K740 from Costco the other day. It looks pretty much the same as the 3960 model but I can't find a working hack for either model to make it region free.
    I've played around with it quite a bit and it does play PAL dvds if I change the IFO files to say NTSC instead of PAL. So, it does have a converter built in. I took the cover off and it has the popular Zoran Vaddis 6 chip. I don't really want to sit here for days trying to figure out the secret code.
    Anybody have any ideas? I would greatly appreciate any clues as to where to begin.

    How do people figure out the sequence of numbers to hit to disable the region protection scheme? Not just off the internet but for themselves.
