  1. I can't burn this media at 8X as advertised on my DVD burners.

I recently bought Ridata 8X DVD+R from Newegg and I have the latest and greatest version of Nero 6 Ultra installed. I have a new NEC 2510A (from Newegg) and a Pioneer DVR-107(from Newegg). Drives are installed in seperate systems. Both drives have the latest hacked firmwares available. What is wrong, have I forgot something.

Ritek G03s are rated for 2X, not 8X. I wouldn't push them to burn at 8X with any hacked firmware if that's what you're trying to do because I think that's pushing it too much - they might not play right or at all.

  3. I also bought some RiData 4x -RW and it only burnt at 2x using my LG-GSA-4120B. Even after patching with N0AD and TDB's latest 104.

    Does anyone have any luck?
It's time to kick some butts, and presto ( if you know what I mean )

  4. RiTEK 8x DVD+R is not RITEKG03, it should be RITEKR03.

  5. Ritek R03's burned fine at 8X in a NEC2510A with factory firmware v2.15...so far I have burned about 50 disks, no coasters yet.....I primarily use Nero (latest version) or RecordNow Deluxe 7.2....

I recently flashed Herrie's 2.16 firmware so that I could burn the Ritek DL disks..... they burned but the second layer skips and freezes for about 10 minutes after the layerbreak....so I still have some work to do to get them to play on my standalone....

  6. Both Pioneer, and apparently now NEC, have recognized that this R03 media is not able to burn a quality disc at 8X and they have restricted the burn speed to 4X. I have burned these at 8X and I totally agree, they should be restricted to 4X. Don't waste your time.
Still a few bugs in the system...

Can someone explain what those graphs in the last post meant? I have a Lite-on 812 and am currently looking for some new media. Are these 8X Ridata looking good or bad? What about the -R's?

Goto cdfreaks.com for info on kprobe readings, ritek are generally ok,sometimes you can get great burns and at other times mediocre burns so its a up and down type of quality, prosonic r03 burn really good with my liteon 812s,stick to +r for your burner cause you will get better burns than for -r.

I can't find prosonic's anywhere. Do you mean prodisc? Or prostore? What about memorex +R ? I had a 25 pack of those that seemed to burn and play well.

  12. Never mind. The upload file image seems to be broken.

In response to the good burn post at 8X on this media I can show you a dozen bad burns. The media is inconsistent and that is why Pioneer and others have limited the burn speed to 4X. If you want to change that you need to convince them not me, the fact remains this is what they did and that is why Pioneeer burns this media at 4X.
