Hi, I've ripped a DVD-9 movie using DVD Decrypter, and then split the movie into 2 parts using IfoEdit. I then use VobEdit to demux the audio and video streams. I then use DVD Maestro to re-author the DVD, using the m2v, ac3 and dts streams, and finally burnt to DVD. I played it on my stand alone, it works, but the video is ahead of the audio by a second or so...
does anyone know why I'm getting A/V sync issues? Is there something else I should have done, or something I've not done? Thanks.

raindance,
Most likely it's between demux and authoring. The audio tracks may have had a (negative) delay (compared with the video).
VobEdit has a Menu-item, that will display the delay of Video&audio inside an existing VOB file.
So make a note of this before you demux (in your case as you've already demuxed just load the VOBs again and read this info).
Then input this information in the appropriate place in DVD Maestro (I don't have it so I don't know where this is but I've heard it is very comprehensive tool so it must be there somewhere).
If this is not the solution to your problem maybe you should post more detailed info and a DVD Maestro specialist may give you a better answer.
BTW, do you get a delay on both DVDs?
And have you tested (on your PC) both film halves after the "split with IFOEdit" step?
I assumed "YES" for question 1 and "they were OK" for question 2.
Hope this helps.It wasn't me. -
Hi, thanks for reply. I've not authored disc 1 yet, what I tested was disc 2 and it had the delay. And yes, the answer is "they were OK" for question 2.
I opened the first VOB file in VobEdit again, and the A/V delay is 0... However, the subsequent VOB files have delays, but I think it shouldn't matter?
In DVD Maestro, the time offset is defaulted at 00:21:06:05... is this of any importance?
I'll try authoring disc 1 and maybe re-demux disc 2 over the next few days...
Anyone else would like to point out anything? Thanks.
