could you guys provide a sensible suggestion to prevent my cd getting scratch beside from placing the cd on a vault or not playing it.

where do you get those scratch anyway? is it dirt on the cd player? dirt on the cd?

will cleaning my cd rack on my cd player help prevent those scratches?

my friend borrowed one of my original vcd and when he returned it, it has scratch, and now there is a portion where the movie is skipping frames

  4. I was thinking about this just the other day.

DVD's...you have to store them, buy jewel boxes and labels if you make them. Some sort of system to catgorize them, etc.

So instead, you buy this Sony DVD player that holds 400 of them.

    http://www.crutchfield.com/S-0VIpuXnU50L/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=6&g=54500&I=158DVP...&avf=N&search=

You can put all your DVD's into this player. No more smudges, risk of dropping or scratches, no handling at all. No more fumbling with jewel cases, no unsightly shelves to hold them or walking back and forth to the storage closet.

What if you have more than 400 DVDs/CDs? You buy two of these players, they plug into each other. Two of them can do 800, etc. It also has progressive scan and component outputs, optical outputs, can do SACD, etc.

So with this player you just have a small notebook on the coffee table. Flip it open and see what number your movie is. Number 179, no problem. Dial it up!

Normal use shouldn't cause a scratch bad enough to make it skip. Trust I've tested this theory beyond the normal use threshold :P If you have a music store near you that sells used discs they probably have a polishing service that will make it look like brand new. The place near me charges a dollar or two, he does the same thing with the used CD's. I haven't bought a new disc in years. Even cheaper than buying a few songs online.
