I own a Benq DW-1655 16x DVDRW. SO far the unit has been flawless though I've been purchasing low-grade DVD-R for it to burn. I've been experiencing DVD-Rs that are dying after a couple months of being burned and so am now considering purchasing higher-grade media. I've heard of Taio Yuden and Verbatim brand and so was interested in:

The media ID is MCC004 and MCC03RG20
My questions:
1. Theres mention of SILVER LACQUER and WATER-SHIELD. For me when i flip over my discs, magically there appears to be fine little scratches on the bottom surface. WTF. Perhaps this is a natural thing since the DVDRW is spinning the disc, cause its definitely not me doing that. Is there some technology out there for Verbatim or Yuden that can help better resist this fine scratches or possibly repair such damage. Im thinking these many light sratches play apart in my short shelf life.

There's Verbatim Videoguard discs. I use the RWs, they are a little better at scratch resistance. They aren't 40x more scratch resistant like they claim.
