Convert mpeg 2 dvd to mpeg1 dvd

I want to convert a dvd capture in 720 x 480 mpeg 2 to mpeg 1 dvd 352 x 240. What's the best tool? I need to author a dvd but tmpgenc author won't let me put them in the same clip. Thanks for any input

mainconcepts mpeg encoder, just get the trial d/l and it should work full function for 30days. it has easily selectable formats, and what you are talking about is "half D1" or you can just use mpg1 or vcd.

fyi tmpgenc dvd author let's you combine mpg2 and mpg1 on same dvd you just have to create a new "track" for each format type. done it many times myself, works great! it will compile "vcd ond dvd" and playback on stand alone players just fine. dvd-lab will also let you do that now in the latest versions i think and have free full function 30day evalutaions. dvd author is more basic and easier to get going but limited in creativity for more professional projects.

Just a note - 1/2 D1 is 352x480, NOT 352x240.
