k...this might be a long post but I dont want to leave anything out. I really want to solve this as it is driving me nuts.

Here is what I do to burn a 700mb avi file to dvdr for watching in a stand alone. This came from the guide on pleasuredome and worked flawlessly until now.

1.download the file(lol)
2. convert in in procoder as per guide.
3. convert the sound with TMPGEncSound Player as per guide.
4. Author it in TMPGEnc DVD Author as per guide.
5. burn it in Nero as per guide.

my burner is a NEC 2500A

The first batch of DVD's I purchased were optodisc -R and were horrible. So I went and bought some Ritek's DVD+R and everyone of the 50 I bought worked perfect and let me watch on my standalone.

So, I went out and bought the exact same looking package from the same store, did the exact sam process as I did previous and it does not work in my stand alone. So I did a bit of checking between the two discs and noticed that there was a small number printed around the middle hole on the dvd that was different between sets. So after trying to burn the dvd's slower, different firmware on the burner, different ways in nero.....I decided to buy some Memorex and see if they would work...same problem.

The DVD's I burn will work fine on my PC but not in my standalone. It is easy to say that it is a problem with my stand alone...but why was it not a problem with the other 50 disc's I burnt.(and it is not just my player, my friends wont play them either...his will not work, or loop 10 secs of video)

Memorex media code = RITEK R02
Ritek's Media code = RICOHJPNR01

The firmware on my NEC 2500a was at 1.06, then when I started having issues I upgraded it to 1.07.

Now to throw a little more to the situation, I recently formatted my hard drive and started fresh. Re-installed all the same software I had and put the same cracks on them as before(except for TMPGEnc DVD Author which is running as a demo)
but, I did burn the last of my first set of riteks after the format and everything worked fine.

So what do I do now? what could be the problem.

As I type this I think it may be the demo mode of TMPGEnc DVD Author, but I doubt it.
Also, the two movies that I am trying to burn were at 25.00 fps....and I have not seen to many like that, but have burnt one or two successfully in the past.

As you can see I am trying all kinds of things here.....if someone can help I would really, really appreciate it.

Thanks
