I have tried WinOnCD 3.8 PE for making menu driven VCDs but have stuffed at least 3 CDs for each good one.

Now I wanna try Nero 5.5. Can it make complex menu driven VCDs as well. I have sub-menus i.e. 1 main menu (having 2 options) and then 1 sub menu for option 1 and NO submenu for option 2. Can Nero do it successfully in the first go?

Also do I need to encode my mpegs before I drag them in the Nero window or does it encode by itself (like WinOnCD).

Please tell me of some tutorials (not the one on http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcdmenun55.htm) which show how to make such CDs.

    Thanks.

Nero itself cannot make complicated menus. Some people would love it if they got their simple menus to work. The files (mpegs) are not encoded, but checked regarding their compliancy beforehand by Nero. It also builds other files from the information it gathers. You should see that your mpeg files are within the VCD specifications.

Anyhow as I understand it you would like menus like a DVD offers you? And you would like these with VCD files.

I am not sure if VCDImager or I-Author can do this sort of thing. I think maybe I-Author can but you would have to checkout the manual.

With normal files it would become a very complicated issue achieving what you want.

I have just come across this link regarding the more complex menu creation you are looking for using Win On CD.
