  1. Hello!

I'm trying to get an Xvid file recompressed and I wanted to know which of the following options (before going to compression mode on VDub) will give me the best image quality possible. Also, it has to be around the original file size. Is it:

    Fast Recompress
    Normal Recompress
    Full Processing Mode

Also, if there is any of the many options that should be ticked on ( don't care if it's Qpel or GMC, etc , this is not for a standalone player), please let me know.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello!

Erm, your post doesn't seem to make sense to me because by recompressing an XviD file you will loose quality, so therefore the best thing to do is leave it alone. i.e. the original XviD will be of the best quality and the file size you want!

I'm guessing this is not quite what you're after! Are you trying to convert an XviD file to an AVI that uses a different codec?

Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Yes, I'm aware that by recompressing the file I will lose image quality.

I have to recompress a Xvid 1.01 file to a XviD 1.0. I just wanted to know which of the settings I mentioned in my first post will give the best possible image quality.

    Thanks in advance!
