So here's the story I'm giving anyway:
I backed up my Predator CE DVD and then accidentally stepped on my store bought disc. Seems something must have gone wrong, too, when I backed up because the trailer for Predator isn't there ... and I can't even select it via the menu (for some reason).
So, questions:
(1) If I can obtain the trailer VOB, can I reauthor my backup with the trailer on it and ...
(2) How do I fix the menu so I can select the Predator trailer? Again, it will only let me select Alien Quadrilogy. Is there a program that will let me edit the IFO file?
(3) Would I also edit the IFO backup (BUP)?
Thanks in advance.

See that. buck 16 steps on his DVD, but instead of asking about copying a rental, he's asking for help in fixing the backup
Anyway, you can use DVDRemake to add it in there. If the trailer is missing, but the pointer is still there, you can replace the item with the trailer.
If you don't want to buy DVDRemake (a great tool for many other things beyond your immediate needs), you may be able to use Ifoedit to fix the button. -
you can't use Ifoedit to fix the button as the info is in the VOB. Menuedit or DVDRemake Pro will probably let you do it but they ain't free
it also depends on what you used to make the backup in the first place as some programs make a right mess of the original structure
if you edit an IFO, when you save it asks to save the BUP also and you just select Yes as it's a backup of the IFO
