  1. This never used to be a problem but now whenever I playback my MPEG-1 files be it in Windows Media Player, Real Player or any other media player the duration of the video displayed is shorter than the video actually is, so that the video stops playing when it gets to that point but I can still hear the sound. The seekbar shows that it's at the end of the video but when I try to drag it back and then toward the end again a latter part of the video can be seen but only until the seekbar gets to the end again at which point only the sound can be heard.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling FFdshow which is what I thought was causing the problem but no it didn't help. What am I to do???

I have a similar problem but have not bothered trying to fix it yet. Here is a post with some proposed solutions.

  3. Thanks. I checked it out. There's one way to bypass the problem that someone posted, which I will try, but not much of a real solution so far. Here it is:

Open up TMPGEncPlus's ' mpeg tools ', click on the tab > Merge and Cut,
Now click ' Add ' and navigate to the mpeg file, set the destination output to a new folder. Do NOTHING else then click ' Run ".

After its done, try playing the new file and see if everything is alright.

( That is if TMPGEnc can recognize the file.)
