Moviegate Problem. Can't playback files

I have been trying to burn a dvd. I have loaded the avi & srt files and made the menu and hit start 3 times now. Every time it finishes I hit the dvd player. The dvd player comes up and opens and then it says it can not play back the file type. I just completed burning a series and another movie to dvd with no problems. So I thought something was funny and I just decided to try to burn it and see what happens. It opens the window and i hit burn and then it disappears and doesn't burn anything.

Can anyone help?

Your avi file may be a divx or a type MovieGate or the Apple dvd player can't handle.

Try VLC and make sure both files are in the same folder and have EXACTLY the same name except for the ending (.avi and .srt). If it plays maybe you should try ffmpegX to make a dvd compliant folder from the files.
