  1. Hi,

I have this very nagging problem with DVD2SVCD 1.2.2.1 and captured video files (AVI, Huffyuv) which are interlaced. I use the FlyDS capturing program which has several built in deinterlace options. When I use deinterlace, there's no problem with DVD2SVCD but if I keep it interlaced (for watching SVCD on TV) and uncheck those options, then Besweet crashes and reports a problem in shibatch.dll file. I don't want to use other programs cause FlyDS is the best I found for quality and sync so the big question is why does interlaced video affect Besweet in that way.
I'd appreciate any help on the matter as I'm kind of stuck now with several VHS tapes waiting to be archived.
    TIA.

Ummm.... isn't Besweet just for audio? Should have zero affect on video.

  3. Add to that the fact that some of the times I try, Besweet has no problem with interlaced stuff from FlyDS and the confusion gets bigger. I'm sure ther's some sound explanation...
It just has to be found.

  4. Are you using the latest stable version or beta?

You are lucky, IMHO, you can get Besweet to work at all. For me, it just inexplicably crashes when I try and do anything, and leaves an empty log file behind.

  5. I do not know if your machine uses Intel CPU or AMD CPU.
I had an AMD machine and BwSweet worked for about 6 months.
Then, it suddently started crashing. I did a web search and found
someone has a similar problem with AMD CPU. His problem was
solved by changing VCORE. Because my MB does not allow me to
change VCORE through BIOS. I believed it was too much work for
me to adjuest the VCORE of the motherboard. I finally bought
a new P4/motherboard, replacing the AMD/motherboard. There is
no question that there are many many happy AMD users who have
no problem of any kind. I consider it is just my bad luck.

I have Besweet v1.5b26 which was installed by DVD2SVCD
    1.2.2.1.
I tried installing v1.5b29 instead with the same dubious results.
You say using a non bete version might help? I'll try finding it.
As for now, I've resorted to a bypass method: I don't use Besweet at all but rather extract the WAV from the video with VD, convert it to MP2 with Toolame, clean the sound with Goldwave, rename the file so DVD2SVCD can work with it and let it do the video converting.
    Whatever works...

Update: just tried Besweet stable 1.4. The only improvement was that the audio conversion did end w/o crashing. The problem is only 5 minutes of audio out of 45 were actually processed, and still no valid MP2... So it's the alternative way for me.

Well, I do have an AMD. Thanks for noting the Vcore issue. As I said, I more or less manage for now, so this will be in the back of my mind if the need arises.
