Is there anyway to delete a menu (or even a certain picture) from a dvd using dvd shrink before backing it up?

I wouldn't rush into buying DVDRemake just yet as you look like you already have the tools to do it . You do sometimes have to buy software as people can't program for free can they?, so don't act shocked if someone ever mentions you have to buy something . As for this 'freeware' malarky with software I have seen, I have one question. If everything was 'free' in the world on a larger scale then how would we all survive? For starters nobody would bother working so nothing would ever be produced, so what's the difference with software and people expecting it to be 'free' or no wanting to pay for stuff?

enough ranting anyway but I'm still not sure what you are trying to do but try using the 'Still Image' feature in DVDShrink and select a black png or jpg to get rid of the menu . The only downside it that it will playback for the same amount of time unless you manually change it or press the skip button on the remote

are you trying to delete or replace the image in the menu? I know it's been suggested but either way if you have Menuedit (did you pay for that?) then you should be able to delete it by using a blank.VOB (normally 8 or 10kb). If you want to replace it with an image (if it doesn't have buttons) then it can be done by creating a VOB from the image using DVDShrink

im not saying that things with a price are bad, im just saying things with a price that are on the internet and not in stores are bad. I have bought Adobe CS upgrade for 233 Canadian. Just last week I bought Nero 6 Ultra Edition for 113 $ CAD. its the internet resourses I dont trust.

then it can be done by creating a VOB from the image using DVDShrink
    How?

as long as you put enough research into buying something of the internet then there is less chance of being disappointed

I can't believe people are still using links from wherever to buy DVDStripper which has now been free for over 6 months . It just shows how little research people sometimes put into things. Google is your friend as they would soon see that's it free

anyway back to creating a VOB

assuming you have your image which should be the right size (720x480 or 720x576) open a DVD with DVDShrink that is the same PAL or NTSC format

click reauthor and then drag a title across
now choose to replace it with an image and browse to your image
click start/end and it should be 12 or 15 frames if it's a 1MB blank
just crop it to as small as you can get it
export it and then you have your new VOB to replace with whatever tool you use
