I'm using DVD-Lab Pro 2 to author a DVD, and I have a few questions.
1. I want to know how I can get a menu to be the first played, yet not be root? I've tried to make the menu I first wanted played as root, and changing the behaviours of the other menus to revert to a certain menu once root is pressed. However, it always reverts to the actual root menu. How can I do this?
2. I have audio loops running on almost all the menus. It seems to me that the audio is not looping, but the actual menu itself if looping and reloading every time the audio ends. How do I make it that the audio loops and not the menu itself?
Thanks in advance

Video length determines the loop, not audio. If you want the video to run the length of the audio you have to create the video of the correct length before authoring.
DVD Lab Pro actually tells you that first play can only be a movie or a root menu. PGCDemux might allow you to get around this, however you might then be pushing out of spec, which means it might not work the way you expect on all players.Read my blog here.

Naaa, most menus have a picture in the background and not a video, so it is running by the audio length.

I don't know how to edit/write VM commands. Don't know syntax or semantics.

I don't think the button will give you the results you are looking for, because I believe it will always override the ROOT (and go to the "first play" menu -- the one you designate as the override menu).
It sounded like you wanted to go to a "First Play" menu when the disc starts, but subsequent presses of ROOT would go to the real ROOT menu.
