This is ODD. I have been using Shrink 3.17 ever since it came out with NO problems. I recently had to reformat my entire drive due to a bad "repair" run of XP which instead erased my entire system 32 directory and said that my drive had no operating system on it. Anyways, I ended up doing a clean refrmat of the drive. I lost EVERYTHING. I started again from ground zero. I re-installed XP. After I did, when I used DVD Shrink, I saw that when I played the movie on my standalone, the movie company clip would play, but after that, the screen just turns green, freezes, and this loud buzzing sound ensues. I tried using my read and write drive with Shrink to see if it was a specific drive, and the result was the same on BOTH drives. I reinstalled all the windows updates, like service pack 1, and all the other stuff. The same thing keeps happening. I've tried to Shrink/burn THREE DVDs and the same thing happened with all 3. I have no idea what else to try! Has anyone else ever had this happen to them, and if so, how did you fix it so that Shrink worked again?
P.S. YES, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Shrink 3.17 and 3.20. It does the same thing with BOTH versions of it.

why dont you use another dvd ripper (like dvddecrypter) to rip the film to your HD, then use shrink on it and see if the problem still occurs

Update Windows Media Player or install a software player such as PowerDVD or WinDVD.
If in doubt, Google it.
