  1. Please, I need some help. I tryed a lot of this and cannot make this works...

    That the situation:

I have a DV camera (Sony TRV-140) and I like to record in 16:9 mode. Then, I capture and edit the movie in Pinnacle 9. Pinnacle already detect the 16:9 mode.

Well, after this I dont know that to do to make a DVD with 16:9 aspect ratio. I already tried to export from Pinnacle to MPEG, AVI, etc. If I export to the DVD size (720x480), it will lose the 16:9 asp. ratio. I already tried to export like this anyway ans used Tmpgenc to encode (always choosing 16:9 A.R.). Used DVD-LAB to author and burn... but in my 4:3 TV, the image cames FULL SCREEN and cutted in the sides (I cannot see the whole picture, even in LetterBox). I tried a lot of different configurations, and didnt work. Please, anyone, help me with this.

I can send more info if needed...

    Thanks

  2. Pinnacle Studio 9 will create Widescreen DVD content 16:9 when your done editing. But currently there is a bug in the IFO creation that effects some dvd players when playing the dvd. There is a work around using IFOedit96. Here is a picture of IFO edit at work fixxing the Studio 9 Ifo compared to a comercial DVD IFO that is ws. Pinnacle is aware of the bug and had stated it would be fixxed in the next patch.

Here is the topic at Pinnacle support.

  3. Thanks for the info. But I don't want to author in Pinncle 9. I exported the video in MPEG2 file (or AVI) and then tried to convert with TMPGENC and edit with DVD-LAB Pro. Never works...

I had the same problem when I was editing the video with Premiere Pro 1.5.

    What can I do?

  4. it should work fine, once the ifo file is created, change the 4:3 to 16:9 and Automatic Letterbox. Once you have done this, burn the DVD.

  5. Ok. Now I can make the TV show the black bars on the top for the 16:9 movie, but still cutting some part of the movie on the sides. The only way I got to make it work is resizing the movie, in TMPGenc to 640x360.

Is there any problem with this? Because it's not a DVD standard size.
